Editorial process

How we make our guides

We are not experts in every topic we publish — nobody is. What we bring is a repeatable process for finding what people actually struggle with and turning it into steps that work. Here it is, in full.

  1. 1

    We start with real questions

Every topic begins as something people actually search for. We look at search demand across the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and we only take topics with steady, year-round interest — not news spikes.

  2. 2

    We collect the real problems

Before a word is written we gather the questions and complaints people post in forums, under videos and in search suggestions. Hundreds of them per topic. Then we group them into the handful of problems that actually block people.

  3. 3

We check what is already out there

We read what the top-ranking pages say and, more importantly, what they leave out. Those gaps become sections in our guide — that is where the value is.

  4. 4

We build the structure around the problems

Each section exists to resolve specific problems from our list. If a problem is not covered, the guide is not done. We also decide upfront which parts are free on the site and which live in the PDF as worksheets and templates.

  5. 5

We write, then we argue with the draft

The draft is written section by section with a strict rule: no invented statistics, no filler phrases, no generic advice. A separate editorial pass then challenges it — contradictions, vague claims, repetition — and the weak sections are rewritten.

  6. 6

A human reads it before it goes out

Every guide is read and approved by an editor before publication. It is the slowest step and the one we will not skip.

  7. 7

    We keep it current

Guides show their publication and update dates. When a guide loses relevance, or readers ask something it does not answer, it goes back into the process.

A note on AI

We use AI tools in research and drafting, the same way we use spreadsheets and search engines. What we do not do is publish anything a person has not read, questioned and approved. If you find something wrong, tell us — it will be fixed and the update date will show it.
